The
annex was built in 1980, initially to house our wagons and farm
implements, and most importantly the archives which provide so
much of the town's written history. In 1988 Mr Tertius de Wet,
Chairman of the Friends of the Museum 1978 - 1994 set out the
wagon-making corner with all the tools that would have been used
at the time. The very generous gift of Mr Reenen Barry in December
1989 made it possible to create the Barry Room within the annex
which acts as conference room when the occasion arises.
Our latest, ongoing exhibition is "Robertson and its People"
of which, at present; only the first phase is displayed. This
defines the contribution of the entire community of Robertson
in its more than 150 year history. This exhibition encompassing
schools, churches, sport and social life will be extended as funds
become available.
Currently
the Barry Room is being used for an exhibition of ladies underwear
from Victorian times until about the 1930's.
